There’s a bit of bad news from the Rhesus camp. We’ve had to postpone our single launch that was scheduled for the 25th November at the Bridgehouse2 down in London.

As many of you know our drummer Kie had major knee surgery a couple weeks ago which has put him out of the game for a minimum of 6 weeks before physical therapy even starts. We were hoping for an extra speedy recovery but unfortunately it hasn’t come to fruition.

However, the amazingly lovely Tony from Bridgehouse2 has completely understood what’s happened with Kie and has not only let us pull out of the gig with out any problems, but has offered his venue to host our album launch on a Saturday night in March next year! What a gent!

So we’ve not really cancelled the gig, we’ve just moved and changed it a little, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We’re going to give Kie as much time to recover as we can and in the meantime we’ll be back to writing, recording and organising our (possibly) Birmingham based single launch as well as our London based album launch – more details to come on both of these gigs.

So to recap, Rhesus are essentially taking a 3 month hiatus and in that time (aside from celebrating the holidays of course) we will be:

• Getting you to vote for us to open for McFly on their 2012 tour (click like here)
• Acoustically gigging
• Writing new songs
• Organising our single launch – possible in Birmingham
• Organising our album launch in London for March

So though we’re not gigging as a full band, we’re still going to be busy busy busy! Keep an eye on the Facebook and the blog as we’ll be posting sneak peeks of our second music video for ‘Liar’ and a few other goodies!

We decided to do something different from anything else we’ve seen so the Black Country Living Museum was kind enough to provide their facilities at stupid o’clock in the morning for us to film. And because of this, special thanks has to go to Angela from BCLM who braved the cold and rain with us to make sure everything went to plan.

We filmed with Nitesh and Daryl from Adapt Productions and got loads of awesome pictures with Andrea from AMCH Photography; all of them were a treat to work with.

Another very special thank you has to go to Carole Barrington-Hill without whom our costumes would have been tragic. She dressed 6 of us in authentic Victorian getup and as you can see we certainly looked the part!

I don’t want to give too much of the storyline away, but I can reveal that throughout the shoot we had a mobile torch disco, Ben and Kie threatened to throw me in the cut, Rich didn’t realise melted wax was hot, all the guys got a John Smith’s breakfast and Carole and I got locked in the hardware shop. That’s all I’m telling you.

We’ll be drip feeding you some of the images before the video is released, so keep your eyes peeled!

As you may or may not have noticed, there has been a few gigs taken off the calendar lately. There is a reason for this. I have got an operation tomorrow on my knee to reconstruct the ligaments. This will involve a huge rehab period, meaning my drumming will, unfortunately, have to take a back seat. We are trying to honour a few of the gigs and do them acoustically, but this all depends on the venue and promoters.

The London gig is still going ahead so please, please, please start to get your tickets for that gig as it will definitely be fantastic!

Hopefully we will soon be seeing you at one of the gigs.
